1.Short and respectful (for the card or the board)
What most students need: warm, brief, and appropriate to read out in a staff room. These work on a card, a whiteboard, or in a message:
- Happy birthday ma'am. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead and a class that actually does the homework.
- Happy birthday sir. Thank you for being patient with a batch that did not always deserve it.
- Wishing you a very happy birthday and a year as good as you have been to all of us.
- Happy birthday ma'am. You made a subject I was scared of into the one I looked forward to.
- Happy birthday sir. Hope you get a day off from all of us.
- Many happy returns of the day, ma'am. Thank you for everything you do that nobody sees.
